Dear Parents, Students, Teachers and Members of the Godwin Community;

On behalf of the GHS PTSA board, I want to welcome you or welcome you back to Godwin for the 2011- 12 school year! There are three important ways for you to support the work of the PTSA, which remains the only organization at Godwin High School that directly supports every student and family in our school.

FIRST: Become a PTSA member at GHS, a deal at $5.00 per person, and help our school achieve our 100% membership goal for this year! We accept parents, students and grandparents as members and appreciate everyone's participation in becoming an integral part of our PTSA membership. Several PTSA scholarships are available only to PTSA Seniors, so don't forget to have your Class of 2012 students sign up also!

SECOND: With each Godwin families full participation in the Direct Donation Drive, with a suggested amount of $30.00 per family, our PTSA can provide great programs and educational benefits to our great students! The donation takes the place of other fundraising programs and is tax deductible and eligible for company matches through certain employers, which all goes to helping us reach our monetary goal for this school year.

THIRD: Godwin HS is always looking for family participation through volunteering with our students, in our school and with our faculty, so look for our volunteer form in the Back to School Fee Day packets and turn it in as soon as possible! We would appreciate any time you can find to help us out and the earlier you reply the quicker we can get you signed up for the opportunity of your choice.

In addition to our monthly programs, operating school store (the Cave), recognizing student and faculty achievements, sponsoring the All Night Party after Prom, providing scholarships, offering hospitality to our teachers and staff, legislating for our students, and honoring Seniors through the Baccalaureate Ceremony and Reception, here are just some of the "EXTRAS" that the PTSA has been able to help fund in the past years:

*Expansion of the MGTV Program and Facilities                *Renovations for Exceptional Ed Classrooms

*Funding for a Second Challenge Day                                *Social Studies DVD Series+

*Funding for the Library to purchase new books                 *Funding for purchase of Large Mats for the

*Updating Honors Display Case in the Main Lobby               school entrances

*Library, School Counseling, and Clinic Enhancements
